The Inheritance

The party each independently receives a letter from a law firm they've never heard of, informing them they have been jointly named heirs to an estate. The estate is an archaeological site two thousand miles away containing the sole surviving structure of a civilization that supposedly never existed. The letters are written in each recipient's native language, signed with their childhood nickname, and were sent forty years ago.
